6DOF Platform in Action. AMC1280USB - Ian's BFF 6DOF - X-plane

Today I visited Richard here in San Diego for a calibration of his 6DOF platform. Some additional calibration is needed in the software side (Ian's BFF 6DOF) but it already beats commercial platforms with its performance! I had to limit the motors max speed to 50% because in some cases it kicks really hard!

Here is one of the numerous videos I took of the calibration testing:

    1. You mean where to get the parts right? This is a DIY project. If you need the whole platform for use, you could try google Ckas... He has the same thing, but much more expensive.

    2. What woul be cool is DIY kit. Maybe a Kickstarter project?

    3. But it is DIY kit already. Only a few hardware connectors (ball rods) needed to form the 6DOF plaform, Almost all parts are off the shelf. Kickstarter? I wish I had the time for something like this, but I don't like the business model and I love my day job. :)
